Awards: indicators of excellence
In 2005, Greenscene once again helped to secure an impressive collection of prizes and recognition for our clients' plant displays.
The Butcher's Hook & Cleaver in the City of London won 1st prize in the Best Small Display category of the Flowers in the City Campaign. This prestigious campaign is organised by the Worshipful Company of Gardeners and prizes are presented by the Lord Mayor of London.
In the same campaign, the Chamberlain Hotel in London's Minories was awarded 1st prize for the Best Medium Display.
Moving outside of London, The Grapes in Southampton came 1st in the Daily Echo's In Bloom contest.
Highgate in Bloom awarded its 1st prize to The Victoria on North Hill for its summer display.
The Red Lion & Sun on North Road has always been a strong contender, and this year secured 2nd prize in Highgate in Bloom with The Flask, in N6, picking up a very commendable 3rd Prize.
We were delighted to hear that one of our long-standing residential clients, Mrs Ratcliffe of Westbourne Grove had claimed 1st Prize in the Brighter Kensington & Chelsea scheme for her flowering display.
The Wilton Arms in Belgravia overcame strong opposition to be awarded 3rd Prize in Westminster in Bloom's Public House division.
The Duke of Wellington in Belgravia was recognised with a Highly Commended award in the Westminster in Bloom scheme. The colours of the Shepherd Neame Brewery were especially incorporated into its bespoke display.
Leicester City Council secured a Gold Award for it's City Centre in East Midlands in Bloom's Urban Regeneration category.
